I really want to grow a night beauty mirabilis in my country house. I heard that these flowers do not tolerate winter well even if they are covered. If I dig up tubers, can I somehow save them until spring? Maybe how to store dahlias or all the same we need to create some special conditions? Or all the same, you can not dig out? I live in the south of Ukraine and our winters are mild. Who will advise what?

Hello, Nina. If you want to keep the tubers until next year, scoop them up in October, dry them and store in a box with sand in a dry basement at a temperature of +3 - +7 degrees. But I don’t bother with storage, I plant seeds every year - it’s easier. A little later, only begin to bloom.
