Tomato - the culture is not only tasty, but also extremely healthy. Planting and growing tomatoes in the conditions of home gardening is a very important task, therefore, sowing seeds for seedlings and planting young plants in a permanent place must be done in a timely manner, observing the optimal dates for the lunar calendar 2018.
Today, many gardeners are eager to get a big crop at minimal cost, therefore sowing calendars are very relevant, allowing you to sow seeds at the most favorable time for growth and development of the crop.

With the planned greenhouse cultivation, seeds need to be sown from the last decade of February until mid-March. ABOUTprerequisite seed preparation is a prerequisite for obtaining a high yieldincluding disinfection and micronutrient treatment.
Creating optimal conditions for germination, a temperature of 25-27 ° C and sufficient humidity, allows you to get mass shoots of tomato in about a week, and their dive into individual landing tanks must be performed after the appearance of a pair of real leaflets.
Dressing seedlings is carried out twice. The first fertilizer application is carried out approximately a couple of weeks after the dive. During this period, it is best to use a solution based on chicken manure, diluted with water in a ratio of 1:20 or with mineral fertilizers containing superphosphate, potassium sulfate and urea. The second time top dressing is carried out approximately a couple of weeks before planting in a permanent place, using ready-made complex fertilizers. It is best to use "Kemira-universal", "Solution" or the drug "Growth" in accordance with the attached instructions.
Plant tomato seedlings after the temperature in the greenhouse is 20 ° C or more. Planting holes should be sized to easily position the root system of a garden crop with an earthen lump. Before planting, the soil in the wells should be shed abundantly with water with the addition of several crystals of potassium permanganate. Saplings in the process need to be deepened to the real leaves. Planting pattern depends on the strength of growth. Planted plants are fixed to supporting pegs or specially installed trellises.
In order to obtain a high and high-quality crop, some varieties of greenhouse tomato need pinching, which consists in the timely removal of excess shoots growing from the leaf sinuses. The first removal of stepsons is made a couple of weeks after planting tomato seedlings on greenhouse ridges. Stepsoning is done several times a season.
Watering is carried out with warm water, rarely enough., not more than three to four times a month. Drops of water should not be allowed to fall on the aboveground part. A good result is shown using the drip irrigation system. Fertilizing is necessary depending on the indicators of soil fertility. On average, it is enough to carry out three or four fertilizers during the entire growing season of the garden crop.
Planting tomatoes on ridges of open ground in some regions of our country is a risky event. Tomatoes belong to the category of sufficiently heat-loving crops, therefore, to obtain a high yield when growing it is important to focus on the soil and climatic conditions in the region and the dates recommended by the lunar sowing calendar.
Seedlings lagging behind in growth and development can be fed once with a solution based on mullein or bird droppings with the addition of 15 g of ammonium nitrate and 10 g of potassium sulfate in a bucket of warm water. The standard solution flow rate for each pair of plants is approximately 200 ml. If necessary, the second application of such fertilizers can be performed a week before transplanting to a permanent place.
Planted in open ground tomato seedlings should have a fairly well-developed root system, and have about seven to eight true leaves characteristic of the type of staining. The stem part should not be elongated, powerful and strong. Under the film shelter, seedlings can be planted in the period from May 20 to May 31. Without the use of shelter on ridges of open ground, tomato seedlings are planted from June 10 to 20after the threat of freezing frost has passed.
The best precursors for tomato are cucumbers, cabbage, legumes or onions. Overgrown seedlings should be well buried in the soil. After planting, abundant watering is carried out, and if necessary, weekly shading of tomatoes is carried out for quick and good survival.
Stepchildren growing in the leaf sinuses are able to expend a significant amount of nutrients, but are unable to form a good, high yield. That's why it is necessary to conduct pinching in a timely manner, after the height of the shoots is about three to five centimeters. It is best to remove stepsons in the morning.
All root fertilizers are recommended to be applied dry under irrigation measures or in the rain. It is possible to dissolve fertilizers in warm water, thus combining root top dressing with watering. Open-ground tomatoes are positively affected by foliar top dressing with micronutrient-based solutions. This application of fertilizers allows to somewhat accelerate the ripening of the crop and quality indicators of the fruit. For this purpose, it is recommended to use fertilizers with boron-manganese compounds.
Focusing on the recommendations given in the lunar calendar, one should not forget that each region is characterized by its own special soil and climatic conditions. Weather conditions must be taken into account when planning the timing of sowing seeds and planting seedlings, as well as when performing any agricultural activities aimed at obtaining a high and high-quality crop.
